Yesterday, Amity headquarters received a very special donation from Marie Krusmann, a 12 year old girl from Germany who stays with her expatriate parents in Shanghai. Marie turned 12 on May 19 and, instead of gifts, she asked her friends and relatives to give to earthquake relief. We are quite impressed that at the age of 12, Marie was already resisting the temptation of birthday gifts and asked for donations to the earthquake relief. Our appreciations go to Marie and all those who have supported the idea. Altogether, Marie and her friends/families have raised RMB 2,725 Yuan.

After working on the ground ever since the very beginning of the earthquake, Amity front line team and volunteers will return tomorrow. They will get back to their families, colleagues and friends, take a long desired hot shower and have a sound sleep. We feel proud for having a team who worked tirelessly with the victims, traveled bravely in the landslide during the aftershocks, lived under tough conditions. Our hats off to them.

Further actions will be mapped out on basis of the information brought back by the team.
