second team of project staff of Amity are on their way to Sichuan.
Mr. Zhengye, Assistant Director of Integrated
Development & Environmental Protection set off this afternoon
Mr. He Wen, Associate General Secretary will
leave tomorrow
Mr. Shu Heng Free lance photographer, volunteer
of Amity will leave tomorrow
Principal. Shangou Volunteer of Hong Kong
Office will leave tomorrow (Shan Gou--meaning mountain dog is his nick name,
sorry that in a haste after a day's meeting, it's not possible for me to check
his real name now in the middle of night)
Supplies were distributed yesterday on 14th and
at dawn on 15th. Please refer to the photos attached. Yue Yaomeng, our ground
staff reported that as soon as they arrived the outskirt of Baichuan, one of
the most severely inflicted areas to distribute the supplies, people come
around and ask "do you have food"? The need for food, drinking water is really
great.

I visited 7 primary and middle schools and
clinics. Situation is really very severe. Tent is urgently needed, however we
are afraid that the tent will not last more than half a year when the new
clinics are to be built.
We'll
try to get into Beichuan County tomorrow with military vehicles.
Fundraising so far
Domestically, we are really having an outbreak
for domestic fundraising-up to 10:15pm, fund raised is approaching 300,000
Yuan
In Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR government granted
3.5 million Hong Kong dollars for the relief. Organizations in Hong Kong
contributed 300,000 Hong Kong dollars.
Internationally, Churches in the U.S. , Germany
have responded quickly. Grant pledged amount to 47,000 US dollars and 10,000
Euros.
Pray for Yue Yaomeng and those who are getting
into the site as they witness the sorrow, the need, the love and in the
meantime, bring all the support from all of our supportive partners.
